Description
The MPT Vernier Caliper (MHE03001-6) is a classic, dependable precision tool for machinists, mechanics, technicians, engineering students and hobbyists. It takes accurate measurements to 0.05mm using a traditional vernier scale. It needs no batteries and has no electronics to fail, so it’s always ready to use.
The body is made from carbon steel for rigidity and long-term durability. A chrome-plated surface protects it against rust and corrosion and gives clean, easy-to-read scale markings. The jaws stay square and true through daily workshop use.
It measures four ways:
- Outside measurement: the large lower jaws measure outside diameters, thickness and width of bolts, pipes, rods, shafts and stock
- Inside measurement: the small upper jaws measure inside diameters of holes, bores, tubes and bearings
- Depth measurement: the depth rod at the end of the beam measures the depth of holes, slots and recesses
- Step measurement: the step faces at the end of the jaws measure the height difference between surfaces
The 150mm (6″) range covers most everyday jobs: automotive and motorcycle parts, fasteners, machining, woodworking, 3D printing, jewelry and general maintenance. The thumb roller allows fine, smooth slider adjustment, and the locking screw holds a reading so you can remove the caliper and read it comfortably.
