Description
The MPT Ball Pein Hammer with Fiberglass Handle is built for metalworking and shop work where you need control and durability. The head is forged from #45 carbon steel, heat-treated for hardness and toughness, then finely polished. It has two working ends:
- Flat face for striking punches, chisels and pins, and for general hammering
- Rounded ball pein for peening rivets, shaping and rounding sheet metal, and closing rivet heads
The double-layer fiberglass handle is the main difference from MPT’s wood-handle version (MHD05001). Fiberglass absorbs much of the shock and vibration from each blow, so it’s easier on the hand and wrist over a long session. It doesn’t swell, shrink, crack or rot when exposed to moisture, oil or changing workshop temperatures. That means the head stays secure and the handle keeps its strength for years.
Choosing a size:
- 1/2 lb (MHD05002-12): light and precise. Good for small rivets, light peening, jewelry and hobby metalwork, and setting small punches and pins.
- 1 lb (MHD05002-1): the all-round workshop size. Good for general mechanical and maintenance work, medium riveting, driving center punches and chisels, and shaping metal.
Each hammer comes with a flag sticker in an OPP bag, ready for retail display. It’s a dependable choice for mechanics, fabricators, maintenance crews, metalworking students and DIY users.
