Description

The MPT MDP1603 is a 550W bench-type drill press for straight, repeatable holes in metal, wood, and plastic. A handheld drill can’t match its accuracy. The head and spindle run on a rigid column, so every hole goes in at a true 90°, with clean entry and consistent depth. That matters for fabrication, jigs, brackets, hinges, dowels, and production work where many holes must line up. The 3–16 mm chuck takes bits up to 16 mm (5/8″), which covers everything from small pilot holes to bolt clearance holes in steel plate and angle bar. Speeds run from 180 to 2,770 rpm. Use low speeds for large bits and hard metals like stainless steel, and high speeds for small bits, wood, and plastic. A heavy 420 × 250 mm base and solid column keep the machine stable and reduce vibration, and the 980 mm overall height puts the work at a comfortable level.
